A week in May
Tues the 6th Hillary did not do anywhere near as well as I'd thought she would in Indiana. Which made me sad. And so that night, as I watched the returns, it cheered me up big time to find these photos from the day before on my camera. Isaac & Aidan & Hannah had it going on with their animals in the trees. It also made me happy to scrap the photos with this new "Follow Me" paper and brushes by Katie Pertiet.
Thurs the 8th, I was OFF to Florida with Elaine & Jill. Here's an older layout about how the whole trip came to be. Huge thanks to Jill's parents who let us stay in their Cocoa Beach condo!!!
Our first day in Florida, Fri, May 9, was spent at the beach. And later we went tchocke shopping and then to dinner at the Roost? I think. Sort of an upscale BG's Boat House ;-) Here's the first of a series of shots I'm calling "Elaine on the phone in Florida." Elaine was on a quest to have fun and find treasure. Jill was on a quest to BE and I was on a quest to do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted.
Sat, May 10, was my birthday! After a fun day at a gorgeous beach (hunting with the metal detector that Elaine tracked down by rolling down the car window frequently and asking people as we drove south on A1A) we had a Jimmy-Buffet-Sunset experience for dinner.
On Sunday,May 11, Jill and Elaine left me behind at the beach while they went to . . . TJ Maxx (they boys and I don't hate anything much more than hearing Neil say, "I just want to run into TJ Maxx."). That night we had a rocking mother's day dinner at Grill's . . . and we *almost* danced. Oh, if only Jill had had that one more drink before the band finished!
Got home Monday afternoon,May 12, and everyone loved the many gifts I'd brought! While I'd been gone, they had baseball practice and two games and Joshua babysat and the three of them watched an Indiana Jones Marathon and had a new passion for all things Indiana.
The next day,Tues the 13th, found Isaac sick and this is how I took care of him. Please pay attention to this photo of how I took care of him today and what happened when they thought I'd left that night.

o . . Isaac was sick and Neil had to go get food for his honors students who were coming to dinner and I cleaned house and then Neil showed up just as I needed to take Joshua to trombone lessons. Josh & I came back to find the party going and Isaac in the middle of it being way too precocious. We got dinner served and then everyone headed down to the river. I had to go back out to a school meeting about Joshua's impending overnight field-trip as they hike up the coast of NH and camp on the way. I took a few shots of the kayaking & canoeing with my zoom lens. I checked out the forums at my site, and . . . . then . . . I thought I'd take another shot. And gee, but Joshua's hair sure looked flat. Was he wet? "Did you guys get in the water?" I called down. "What are you doing here?" said my husband. "Aren't you going to be late?" So . . . anyway, Isaac coughed even more that night but I sent him to schoo the next day. I mean---how do you let a kid jump in a NH river in May and then keep him home to pamper him? And, besides, i was thinking it would be nice to get a few hours of work done on Weds before the kids came home early ---- but . . . turns out Neil bought a fridge! and it was arriving! Guess I need to get a shot of the new fridge. :) Life is good.

Hooray for sending him to school! I hope that he was okay.
I think that I am the meanest sick mom ever - "My stomach hurts!" warrants "Call me if you throw up." (I have had too many almost sick kids stay home & bounce off the walls and drive me crazy.
